Actually, until the Libyans pushed him out, Abu Nidal was funded and
sponsored by Qadhafi. When Abu Nidal originally broke with the P.L.O and
set up his rejectionist group in Baghdad, Sadam kicked him out after U.S.
diplomatic pressure (it was the early 80's when we were making nice with the
dictator). Nidal went on to Syria and was similarly booted out. He landed
in Tripoli where he became an adjunct of Libyan intelligence. When Qadhafi
finally decided he was a liability, Abu Nidal was sent to Cairo and the
Egyptians moved him on to Baghdad. Sadam had Abu Nidal killed last year,
probably because he suspected the old terrorist was trying to do a job for
the Kuwaitis.

Has everyone already forgotten Abu Nidal, one of the worst terrorists in =
history (up until 9/11, sponsored and funded by Iraq?

Neither the US intelligence services nor the British provided *ANY*
plausible links between Iraq and Al Qaeda. We all know the British
so-called 'intelligence report' fiasco. Reading into that, it would
seem that intelligence services are refusing to provide evidence for
links they do not believe are there. I have not found *one*
intelligence services individual willing to state with any amount of
personal convication that Iraq can be linked with Al Qaeda.
Certainly you are a thoughtful person - think who is promoting the
link between Iraq and Al Qaeda. Why was the meeting that was held
between an Al Qaeda operative and "Iraq" put forward as 'proof'
without the information that it was in fact held in Kurdish controlled
territory?
