I would like to point out that--whether this contains any degree of
truth or not--our discussion of it becomes part of the information war
that is in progress. This is a time to temper our remarks with reason
and objectivity. We are, after all, an "open discussion" forum with
publicly accessible archives.

Subject: NSA bugging the Security Council.

Newsflash! Apparently the US is using the NSA to bug the Security
Council!

The article:

http://www.observer.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,905899,00.html

John Young of Cryptome's reaction (or over-reaction, but always
creatively
done)

http://cryptome.org/koza-eyeball.htm

While personally I don't find this kind of news surprising in the least,
the timing is embarrassing. It does bring to question their
source. Forgive me for hardly-informed speculation, but hasn't the
Observer been connected to either the British IC or Foreign Office in
the
past? Especially considering the actual e-mail was leaked. Conversely,
it
could be a contemporary Zimmerman letter.

Thoughts?
