There has been considerable interest among computer tech people re. the
new virus, "Sircam".

What differentiates this virus from most others is that it appears to
select ramdom files, most likely from a person's "My Documents" folder,
and send them out to other addresses. This has obvious security
ramifications, in that you personally do not need to be infected with
the virus to compromise information. If you send info to another
person who *has* been infeected, your document could then be relayed to
others, randomly.

If you run a Microsoft machine, you may want to contact their website
for a patch to avoid infection. This is certainly a good first step.
You may also want to be sure you do not keep sensitive documents in
your computer's "My Documents" folder.

There is a fairly long description of what the problem is and how it
can occur and how it can be avoided in the security update
documentatio

I don't normally post virus information, but this particular species
seems a little different than most. Please excuse the digression.
