>Dear Roberto,
>You have been on a fruit diet for only 14 months and, as with so many
>others, you expect a perfect healthy state. My friend, what is the reason
>that people expect virtually instant health on a pure fruit diet? True,
>fruit is one of the most pure foods there is and fruit has great cleansing
>capacities of which the body makes use to detoxify itself. You are 36, so
>you may have about 30 years or so other diet habits behind you. With fruit,
>the body is constantly cleansing itself, which will bring the necessary
>discomforts and it may take years before the body is purified.

Dear Rene: I am agree with you.

>It took me over 9 years on predominant fruit, the last 5 years on virtually
>all fruit to get to a reaonable state of good health and there are still
>things in the body which will have to be eliminated. I am coordinator of a
>fruitarian Network 'around the world' and I always emphasize to the people
>that a transfer to a fruitarian diet must be a gradual process, rather a
>'natural' process. some people want to go on fruit, instantly, expect to be

> Give it time Roberto, if you have discomforts, this means to me that
>your transfer to all fruit is going too fast and this may give you the feeling
> that you are not healthy. Do not be disappointed, but if the discomforts

The 3 main discomforts are: I am very, very thin.
                                I am very very cold
I crave avocados (not other food)

1. I am very very thin: It doesn't care. I am married.
2. I am very very cold: Normally, I use thee winter trousers and three
pullovers and climate in Peru is not too cold (but I would like to move to a
hotter place).
3. I crave avocados: this is a problem for me!

>I don't believe that fruits, like avocados, or some of the more acid fruits,
>are cause of poisoning your blood. Avocado is a perfect and neutral fruit,
>and most of the fruit that are acid become alkaline in the body. And a
>healthy body should be able to handle these fruit. The fact that you still
>crave for these fruit is actually a sign of the body saying that it needs it
>still. Be at peace with it, they are not the cause of your still not
>perfect health, it is the condition of your body which is not yet fully
>ready.

May be you are rigth.

>Again, Roberto, give it time, it may take years to get the body
>adjusted. Also, I like to suggest that you not become 'fanatical' about
>eating fruit, let it be a natural process, never force it upon you, you will
>only be disappointed with yourself and feel guilty if you have a small
>diversion. You are free to contact me on my e-mail for further details if
>you so wish.
>All the best in good health to you and your young family, with peace and
>love, Rene.

>(phone/fax: 070-577.273)(Australia!) P.S. I live in the tropical area of
>North Queensland in Australia where also the fruit is readily available.

Rene, if you allow me, I would to ask you some questions.

What temperature has your city during the year? what do you eat? Since when?
What benefits did your diet bring you? What bad food do you crave?

Thanks a lot for your time and knowledge.
