As a long time vegetarien and newbie raw fooder, I've pondered the B12
analogue situation in sea vegetables, tempeh, and spirulina. If you follow
the allopathic model, then B12 analogues are simply not absorbed in the
body at all. However, albeit be it testimonial, I have never been B12
deficient. The body stores B12 for 3-4 years. Perhaps I'll see a
difference this year (been a veg for 4 years now). I also down a good
tablespoon of spirulina a day. There is undoubtedly a wide varience in
individual needs. But perhaps the spirulina is not the culprit to your
borderline B12 deficiency. Tea, coffee, wheat bran also inhibit
absorption. Anyway, Every source I have read recommends B12
supplementation..
