I talked to the actual manufacturer/supplier of the honey I've been
eating for a little while, and he said he gives sugar to the bees during
winter (we have harsh winters here).  But none of that sugar actually
gets into the product I buy.

I wonder, is this sort of feeding (in winter only) of sugar to the bees
what should be avoided when selecting honey?
