Something to add to the story:
Some of the 'new' primates were seen sitting in front of a cathode ray
tub and enjoying the radiation. Further they did some strange workout
of their fingers by hitting on a plastic rectangle in front of the tub.
This also seemed to change the radiation of the tub although the latter
could not be proven by the scientists.
Very rarely it was observed that they did exercises with a piece of
plastic near the plastic rectangle. They just moved it randomly and
synchronized their eye movement with that in an odd way.

Well it seems you and me are part of this odd species. :-)
