I have heard Dr. Michael Klaper refer to honey as a slaughterhouse
product. He said that that they (commercial honey producers) kill the
bees and take all of the honey instead of having to leave some to
maintain the hive over the winter. It is easier to get a new queen in
the spring and start over.
