Robert and Ric,
Thanx for your suggestions. But since string beans are mostly pod and
not so much bean I don't think I'll soak or sprout them. I guess I'll just
continue to munch them fresh and raw. My kids (ages 2 & 5) beg them
off me, too, so I hope they're not doing them any harm.

Which leads me to my next issue:
Is anyone on the list who is doing all or mostly raw raising young
children? If so, what do you give them? If all/mostly raw, are they
happy with the food you're feeding them? Do their friends think they're
wierd?
This, I think, has been a large obstacle to doing mostly, much less all raw.
The kids are different enough from their friends just in being vegetarian.
I don't want to place a huge social burden on them.
Another issue: I don't seem to have much imagination, leading to lack of
variety. And it seems the raw recipes require planning for days ahead
to start sprouts and the like. Like soaking almonds for 2 days to make a
pie crust. So, at the risk of being really, really, annoying: what do you
guys eat? Do you just grab whatever fruit, nuts, etc. sound good, or do
you sit down to meals? What are people's favorite vegetables to eat
raw? Besides string beans, cukes, celery & carrots, I can't think of any
other vegetables I like raw. Not that I've tried everything. Is it discipline
at first, then you get to liking the stuff?
If there's anyone still reading this that I haven't offended yet, I could use
some help, because I think you guys are fantastic (no really, I'm not just
saying that!), and I'd sure like to help out the old bod, if possible.
