Hi Susan!!

<< I hope there are no combat Vietnam Vets on this list, because they would be
insulted by the above untrue statements. PTSD is a NORMAL reaction to
abnormal stimuli. In other words the veteran saw TOO MUCH (horror overload)
and reacts accordingly. Because the Veterans organizations have been
infaltrated by Vietnam Vet wannabees the true picture of PTSD has been clouded
by misinformation >>

Susan, thank you for this! This is great information, very clearly stated. I'm
really glad you spoke up with this. I was completely unaware of the whole
situation, and I am very glad to know about it.

Maybe what the other two posters were trying to say, (a little ineffectively
maybe) was that if you are subjected to a horror and trauma, you have an even
rougher time handling it if you have already had to live through childhood
horrors beforehand. But, as you so clearly pointed out, it is a big mistake
to use Vietnam Vets and the very false misinformation about PTSD to illustrate
this point.

Thanks again for being on your toes, and for clearing that up!

Love, Liza
