Please cite a source for this. It does not jibe at all with what is
discussed on the PaleoDiet research list, or with what has been written in
books. Humans living near the equator do eat a smaller amount of meat, but
never as low as the 5% you mention. There is much evidence of humans being
meat eaters for 2 to 2 1/2 million years. It was to cut up animals that had
died of other causes that we developed tools. Then much later we developed
tools to kill animals.
