I, Eco-warrior since 1950's, say in defense:

Rachel Carson's "Silent Springs" thirty+ years ago, and Theo Colburn's "Our
Stolen Future"(1996-- she is an endocrinologist,--the book forwarded by Al
Gore) should both be read before coming to any decision about the present
state of our environment and the future of this planet and it's inhabitants.

These books will scare the bejesus out of you, not because of rhetoric, but
because of inarguable fact. Please believe me about this, I have been
pursuing info about these and other warnings for over 40 years. Not
zealotry, merely awareness that chills. They will make you willing to err in
the direction of ecological over-reacting for as long as it takes--well
beyond your lifetime, I'm afraid, and surely mine.

In the meantime, Kirt's recommendation for "We Want to Live", based on his
expertise schtick, is a pro-tem assist from another discipline, and I, for
one, intend to order ot today. Thanks for the phone #, Kirt.
