UPDATE: INTERNET WEB SITES FOR RAW FOODERS
by Tom Billings (e-mail: [log in to unmask])

This article is an update/revision for an article on web sites that appeared
earlier this year in the SF-LiFE newsletter. There are some new web sites on
Internet, and enhancements of old web sites, that raw fooders should be aware
of, as follows.

* Hippocrates Institute (West Palm Beach, Florida) now has a web site,
address: <http://www.hippocratesinst.com>.
It's a very nice site; it provides information on their 3-week programs, their
health educator program, Brian Clement's speaking schedule, their store,
and other information. Definitely worth a visit, if you interested in The
Hippocrates Institute. You can now contact Hippocrates by e-mail:

* Tree of Life (Patagonia, Arizona) now has their own site, address:
It's a very pretty site, and provides information on a number of topics:
their Rejuvenation Center, their Essene activities, their store, their
two newsletters (Tree of Life and Essene), and other topics. The site was
not 100% complete as of the date of my visit (2 October 1997) - portions
were marked as "Under Construction". The information content of this site is
good, however in an apparent effort to make it look pretty, the site has the
appearance of being printed on heavily embossed gray paper (and the printing
is in light ink). In other words, it looks beautiful but is hard to read.
Personally, I would trade beauty for readability. Tree of Life can be
contacted via e-mail: [log in to unmask]

* Living Nutrition. Dave Klein, an SF-LIFE member, has a brand new web site
for his "Living Nutrition" newsletter. John Kohler (also an SF-LiFE member),
designed and built the site, and it is a very attractive site. It includes
raw recipes, articles from recent issues of "Living Nutrition", humor, and
articles on dietary transition, gardening, soil remineralization, and other
topics. Recommended - definitely worth visiting! The address is:

* Living-foods.com. John Kohler has enhanced the site to include more recipes
and additional articles, among other improvements. This site has a large
recipe archive in it - the largest raw recipe archive available on the
web. John designs web sites professionally, and this site (and Dave Klein's,
above) are both attractive, and well-organized. The site also has a Community
Page with information on raw fooders. Check it out! The address is:

John is also the owner of a (relatively new, unmoderated) e-mail list on
living foods. To subscribe, send e-mail to [log in to unmask], with
the content (not subject line):

subscribe living-foods your_e-mail_address_here

To submit messages to the list, follow the instructions given on the web site.
At present (early October, 1997) the list has no activity on it.

* The Natural Health M2M publication now has a web site, address:
M2M is bi-monthly, long (around 190 pages of late), and could be described as
a slower, but more thoughful, analogue of the e-mail lists. Bob Avery is the
coordinator of M2M; e-mail him at: [log in to unmask]

* There is a web site on the activities of Johnny Lovewisdom, at address:

You can find other sites of interest using the search programs. Enjoy!
