I had a client that is one of the world's largest producers of
Chickens
and Turkeys.  In the U.S. the process with Chickens, is

1. Hang them upside down on a conveyer belt in a dark room, which
subdues
   them.
2. Give them an electrical shock which will stuns them unconscious.
3. Slit the neck all the way through..

The entire process takes less than 30 seconds.
