The standard explanation is that your blood circulation has slowed down
from the detoxification process your raw food diet is putting you
through. Some raw food veterans believe low body temperature is a
marker of longevity and would say that your metabolism was unnaturally
revved up dealing with the cooked foods and that you should buy some
warmer clothes or move to a warmer climate. Gabriel Cousins advises
using warming spices like ginger & cayenne and says it took him several
years eating raw before he could start tolerating the cold again. A
high percentage of high water content foods in your diet will tend to
lower your body temperature as well. Try increasing your intake of the
denser foods.

>(2) what kind of blood profiles should I ask my doctor to recommend?

I had mine done recently. I do not have the names of the test the lab
ran on me but it included a standard urine test, a thyroid test and a
standard blood count. It was 6 different test and cost me $230. I
recommend that you find a good ND so you have somebody to read and
interpret the results for you.

>Can I just bypass the guy and go directly to a lab to get these done?

This is tricky. I was told that PAL (310-207-1111) in Los Angeles does
it without a doctors prescription. The Health Faire Expo 1-800-488-EXPO
does it very cheaply. Try calling both numbers and find out what is
available in your neighborhood.

>(3) is there any known reason for my starting to look older?
>Is it a lack of some nutrition?

Since you are feeling so good, I would not worry about it unless your
wife is threatening to leave you for a younger man. ;-) It is probably
just a phase you are going through.

>By the way, my diet is a "zone modified" "somewhat instincto" scheme:

Try eating some more RAF. From a zone perspective your diet is a little
low in concentrated protein.

Best, Peter
