>What is your opinion of Aajonus' use of large amounts of honey for recovering diabetics. He himself eats a gallon a month and claims it is healing for diabetics in his book.

Tom:
The use of so much honey is a bit surprising to me. In Ayurveda, honey is
the only sweet a diabetic is allowed to consume, but not in large amounts
i.e., by the gallon as Aajonus does).

Diabetes begins as a disorder of sugar metabolism, but quickly becomes a
disorder of fat metabolism as well. As Aajonus's diet is high in natural
fat (versus the SAD diet that is high in cooked/hydrogenated/artificial
fat), it may help correct the fat metabolism problems. His diet is
also low in sugars, unless one eats a gallon of honey a month. In
particular the diet is low in refined sugars, which will be helpful for
diabetics as well.

Regards,
Tom Billings
