Fresh season is coming up in a couple months, Someone posted long ago that
fresh Thai durian was available in season (meaning May especially) from

Jimmy's 99 Ranch Market
988 N Hill St
Los Angeles, CA 90012
(213) 625-3399

Looking at the map I figure we can take the Amtrack up to Union Station in
downtown LA, walk several blocks and be grateful for the opportunity to
spend $20 for a durian that would cost maybe $2 or 3 in Thailand.

OK, now, for a week return airfare to Bangkok discounted at, say, $900, one
would have to eat approximately 51.42 durains to "break even". That would
be about seven durians a day for seven days. I think you could do it
Ombodhi. In fact, if you ate, say, 10 durian per day I think it would
actually be money in your pocket somehow. Can that be?

Anyway, your cherry isn't popped until you have fresh durian, and you will
see why I say that in a couple months I bet...

Cheers,
Kirt
