I don't know. Maybe from an Ayurvedic point of view. The only "rule" I try to
respect is not to eat anything several hours before going to sleep: it is a
scientifically proven fact that digestion is slower during the sleep. But
otherwise, as long as I eat 2 normal-size meals in the day, the time is not
important for me.

More simply, I think that GCB has been influenced by the hygienist dogma and its
promotion of fasting, so, not eating anything in the morning (and thus leaving
an 18 hour-interval between the evening meal and the next lunch) allows the body
to detoxify.

The body however needs water, that's why you have to drink in the morning.
