"Extreme" means by definition differing from the majority. All raw diets are
extreme, especially the 100% raw ones, the vegan ones, and the ones including
raw meat. With 95%+ raw, I consider myself as extreme, although not at the very
far end.

There is nothing wrong with choosing an extreme diet, as long as it's a personal
choice, taken with freedom and respect with other people's way of life and
eating. But if having an extreme diet results with an obsession with purity,
fear of cooked food, fanaticism, contempt, etc., better stay in a more moderate
path.

I know from my personal experience what it's like to discover an unconventional
diet: you think you've found the Ultimate Truth, that you are superior than
average, that people don't understand you; that the world is toxic, and all
problems, including health, pollution, criminality would be solved if people
started to eat raw; then you try to convince your friends that your diet is the
best, without success of course; and as some people think you are weird, you
become increasingly convinced that you are right and other people are blind to
the truth.

Again, I am not saying that extreme diets automatically result in that kind of
thinking. But extremist attitudes are certainly more common with extreme diets.

I have read that "argument" many times, and I won't believe it until someone
gives me a convincing proof (you didn't supply any proof here).

On the other hand, I have read (on this list) about many disastrous experiences
of (long term) fruitarians and vegan babies. When listening to both sides, I
tend to trust Tom more, given his experience (he started raw shortly before I
went to 100% raw... mother's milk!).

Note: you do whatever you want with your body, I am not gonna force-feed you
with RAF!

Best wishes,

Jean-Louis
