yes, but I tend to think that what we eat, as compared to some "natural"
reference,
is more important to me than all of these other examples of civilization
(which of course,
I try to to remain as natural as possible in those areas as well).
my point was that people tend to think that because flax has the highest
amount of nutrient x,
therefore we should eat flax, when there are many other sources, and since
it is clearly
not a natural human food, there may be some negatives to it.

No that is right. And so is living in a house, driving
a car, sitting behind a computer, living in temperate
and even colder areas, wearing clothes, farming,
eating fruits and vegetables that are far removed from
their wild stage and many many other things.
Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world.
Ground flax is an easily absorbed source of omega 3
and I am not going to give that up because it is
unnatural. I might start thinking about that when I
live a more natural life and can gather more natural
foods.
