Tom Billings wrote about a "natural detox" article in the Los Angeles Times,
Health Section, Monday, September 3, 2001. This article discusses various
alternative practitioners and alternative methods that contend that they can
detoxify the living body.
I contend that there is no validity to the assertion of anyone or anything
that alleges that they can do things to your living body, to facilitate and
expedite its detoxification.
Only your living body can detoxify itself. You have been, are and will be
detoxifying every moment of your life. When you stop detoxifying, you will be
dead.
                                       THERE ARE NO "CURES"
There are no "cures". Disease is not something that should be "cured" or that
can be "cured". Disease is a disturbance of life. Disease is, not at ease. If
"cure" means to get well or to recover health, then disease is the process of
"cure". Disease is always constructive and is always a remedy. Diseases are
instituted by the inherent intelligence, the God within, and are conducted
for the purpose of cleansing, repair and restoration of body balance or
homeostasis (the uniform balance the body maintains). Disease is always an
inherent bodily created crisis due to an enervation (fatigue from loss of
nerve energy and vitality) caused toxemia (toxic accumulation). Disease is
inherently and defensively built into the genes, chromosomes and DNA of every
cell of the living being.
All "cures"have two things in common-they do not remove causes, and they do
not constitute normal needs of health and life.
No substance foreign to the body can "cure" the body. Something that makes a
healthy person sick, cannot make a sick person healthy. Only substances and
practices that promote health can enable the return of health.
You "cure" ham, not living beings.
Many mistakenly believe that certain therapies or treatments can perform
specific actions upon the body to effect a "cure". The idea is that some
extra-vital agent or influence can, of its own power, restore health to a
sick living being. Whether they be in the form of drugs, medicines, sera,
vaccinations, surgery, radiation, transplants, implants, ultrasound,
exercise, yoga, tai chi chuan, tibetan rites, manipulation, massage,
reflexology, reiki, rolfing, acupressure, shiatsu, naturopathy, chiropractic,
osteopathy, acupuncture, moxibustion, mineral baths, mud baths, homeopathy,
chelation, crystals, channeling, psychiatry, psychotherapy, psychic healing,
psychic, medium, clairvoyance, alchemy, telepathy, witchcraft, voodoo, past
life healing, immune system, biofeedback, hypnosis, meditation, guided
imagery, relaxation therapy, color healing, light therapy, hydrotherapy
(water), rebirthing, aromatherapy, breath therapy, ozone, ayurveda, oriental
medicine, feng shui, colonics, enemas, flushes, blood transfusions,
intravenous solutions, tube feedings, tourniquet, snake bite anti venom,
poison antidote, heimlich maneuver, cpr (cardio pulmonary resuscitation),
mouth to mouth resuscitation, herbs, foods, juices, juice fasts, wheatgrass
juice, rejuvelac, macrobiotics, urine therapy, vitamins, minerals,
supplements and/or enzymes, there are no "cures".
In logic, "non sequitur" and "ergo propter hoc", mean because a subsequent
event follows some previous event, that does not prove that the previous
event caused the subsequent event. Because someone recovers after receiving a
particular treatment, that does not prove that the particular treatment
caused the subsequent recovery. It may have been purely coincidental. Unless
you conduct a scientifically controlled, double blind and/or clinical
experiment to prove the efficacy of some modality to help restore someone to
better health, then all you have, is an anecdotal testimonial.
Instead the homeostatic inherent intelligence, the God within, heals itself.
Health care is self care. Therapies or treatments, have no power to act upon
the living body-the body acts upon the therapy or treatment. The body is
active and therapies and treatments are passive. Therapies and treatments are
inert. Therapies and treatments effect the living body only because the body
is forced to react to therapies and treatments to which it is exposed.
Nothing outside the living body can heal. All healing comes from the God
within.
