Are you sure oranges have enough carotenes to make skin orange?

According to USDA data:


CARROTS, RAW
alpha carotene 3650 mcg/100g
beta carotene  7900 mcg/100g
cryptoxanthin     0 mcg/100g
lycopene          0 mcg/100g
lutein          138 mcg/100g

ORANGE, RAW
alpha carotene  19 mcg/100g
beta carotene   39 mcg/100g
cryptoxanthin  140 mcg/100g
lycopene         0 mcg/100g
lutein          14 mcg/100g

I don't have numbers for gamma carotene. There are supposed to be hundreds
of carotenoids, but I don't have numbers for them.
