Technically, no, but produce folks may not know this and may label them
falsely.

Who says they are bad? IE says if it tastes good raw then it is good for
you at that time. I can think of a couple weak arguments against tubers
(but certainly not from an instincto point of view) but organic "jewel"
sweet potatos have been a healthy staple for me when in season.

What is IE? Instinctive Eating? I thought we had IN for Instinctive
Nutrition going for an instincto abbr. Ah, same difference,eh?
