those who enjoyed the recent Ward Nicholson interview in "Health & Beyond",
on prehistoric diet, will find some interesting things in an article in the
latest (February 1997) issue of "National Geographic" magazine. The article
is titled "The Dawn of Humans", and begins on page 72. There is information
on Australopithecus diet on page 77 (termites, bird eggs, other things), and
comments on Homo species early diet on page 91 and 96 (the article discusses
that early Homo species were probably scavengers, stealing the kills made by
carnivores). Anyway, you might find it interesting.
