Ryan,

it is very difficult to choose and eat
raw animal products without using the
instinct.

All animals use the instinct to find
the right food. The instinct is always
present and very reliable. It works
through the olfactory sense so that the
needed foods smell very good and
attractive. The needs change from day
to day and even minute to minute. They
depend on so many factors that our
brain never could sort them out
consciously. Because the needs change,
it is very important to have a choice
of foods, including plant and animal
proteins, available.

About meat:
A good indicator for a need for meat is
when fish shops or roasted meat begin
to smell attractive.

Seafood:
Before buying seafood, I go around or
into the seafood shop to see if
something smells good at all. If yes, I
buy some of the really raw fish. That
means, it must neither be cooked,
frozen or breeded. Then I either eat it
at the evening of the same day or keep
it in the vegetables refrigerator until
it smells good enough to eat. After
some days it will turn bad, then I
unfortunately have to dispose it. But
if it smelled good in the shop, then I
usually can eat it on the same day,
especially if I keep it outside the
refrigerator for some hours.

Animal food:
I don't eat it often, but when I do, I
eat a big amount. So I usually buy 2kp
from a reliable source and keep it in a
0 (zero) degree Celsius refrigerator.
The refrigerator has to be very clean
and dry and it must keep the
temperature very exact. That way, meat
can be kept for many months, until I
need it. It becomes better all the
times because it becomes drier and
riper.
