the new (Jan-Feb 2004) program for the University Art Museum/Pacific
Film Archive has an ad for the museum's cafe, "Cafe Muse," that says:

"Who needs cooked when you can enjoy raw entrees like Thai Green
Papaya and Persimmon salad with Almonds? Cafe Muse has a new
look and a new menu, introdcuing innovative raw dishes
that capture taste and nutritional value, and sandwiches
and cooked specialties featuring sustainably grown ingredients."

The University Art Museum is on Bancroft Avenue, just south of the
main campus of the University of California, Berkeley. However,
unless they have moved it, the Cafe is on the south side of the
University Art Museum, with a small courtyard that faces Durant
Avenue. Translation: enter/approach the cafe via Durant Avenue, not
Bancroft.

The museum and Cafe are probably closed until after New Year.
Sometime in January of February I will drop by and try some
of the raw goodies. But that will be at my convenience,
hence unscheduled/subject to change without notice.

PS when UC Berkeley classes are in session, parking is expensive
and/or scarce in the museum area. Classes however don't resume
until after Martin Luther King day in late January.
