P.S. Part 1 of the Health & Beyond interview at
http://members.GNN.COM/chetday/ward1.htm, which sets the stage for Part 2
of the interview on fire, rates of genetic change, hunters and gatherers,
and so forth, is in large part a discussion of diet in the human
evolutionary line in "timeline" form, beginning from 65,000,000 years ago
at the beginning of the primate line and tracing dietary developments
through 10,000 years ago at the beginning of the agricultural revolution.
Those of you who (like me) follow the theory that humans should be eating
what we originally ate will find all the science assembled here in capsule
form. It will no doubt give some of you a massive case of indigestion,
though, as the evolutionary picture directly contradicts vegetarian
philosophy. (Just as a warning so nobody is expecting to hear Edenic
stories of Atlantis or Lemuria or anything like that. :-) )
