I agree it is quite a strech of the imagination but at the risk of
loosing whatever is left of my reputation ;-), I will withhold my
judgment until I have heard his last word on this matter and keep the
door open to what he might have to say.

Let us not forget the perspective, though: You did good by doing what
you needed to get well, and you were hardly in a position to want to or
have the time to start experimenting with new, unproven methods at such
a late & critical stage of a potentiallly fatal disease.
