The same 21'st edition I have your quote "while still in the very prime
of life.." that you wrote in an earlier post, word for word. It then goes
on to tell yet another story, perhaps rosier than the ones above. From
page 9, 1st paragraph of MDHS:

"It was an unusually wet, foggy night, with visibility practically 'nil!'
The 'oil-soaked,' streets and sidewalks became extremely slippery, when
wet! The fatal accident occurred on a 'side-walk-drive-in' to a public
garage! He evidently slipped on the 'oil-soaked' driveway, and in falling
backwards, he landed on the back of his head with sufficient force to
cause a 'basal fracture of the skull!' He was immediately taken to a 'branch
office' of the Los Angeles Receiving Hospital and the medical doctor in
charge pronounced him dead upon arrival."

Does not say whether or not he was wired on coffee, but I guess we may
at least count it as more folklore until further evidence.

The '' quotes were Fred S. Hirsch, D.N.S (whatever that means), who wrote
the introduction for this printing. I wonder if these quotes were taken
from the autopsy report itself. I must admit that the "Biographical
Sketch of Prof. Arnold Ehret", by Prof. B.W. Child, after the intro,
was a much better read on his philosophy and lifestyle than what I saw
conveyed by Ehret himself in the ensuing chapters.

I agree that though perhaps a little morbid, it is interesting to note
the fate of the predessors in raw food. I'll try to contact the Coroner
of LA myself just out of curiousity, unless someone has already started
the search. I also like your idea of looking into newsclips at the
reported time of his death - I wonder if LA has microfilms of clips back
to 1922.

Regards,

David
