One way I suspect something contains toxins is whether it sets up a
craving. IMO cravings are for stimulants. One definition of a stimulant
is anything that increases metabolism above its normal range, and this
could be for the purpose of detoxing. So, if something is a stimulant, it
is probably toxic. I think we are dealing with a matter of degree.
Probably all foods have some toxins, and it's a matter of how efficiently
the body can deal with eliminating the toxins and assimilating the useful
nutrients.
