I think you are mistaken. Aged RAF does not harbor the large bacterial
population that rotting RAF does (indeed it probably doesn't qualify as RAF
if it is rotting). The comparison between ripe fruit and aged RAF is very
useful. The word aged being analogous to ripe. Any food, plant or animal
can rot, beyond its ability to age or ripen.
You may think you know that aged RAF is "rotting" but it is not. FYI ;)
