Believe me, each morning, I check by smell if I need to change my shirt.
Previously, after *one* day, it already smelled something, but I judged
that I could wait 1 or 2 more days. Now, the smell is different, but I
judge that the intensity is now about the same after 5-6 days that after 1
day when I was on the SAD (or SFrD). I change shirts twice a week
now. Another way to judge your own smell is the following: when you wake
up in the morning, don't open the window immediately, go to the bathroom.
When you come back to your bedroom, check what it smells. Two years ago,
it was rather unpleasant, but now, it almost doesn't smell anything.
Third, I used to get occasional complaints (for instance, under stress, my
perspiration smells more), but it's no longer the case.

Now, honestly, I don't think it's dangerous to wash less frequently.
Animals don't need to take baths to be healthy. Washing is nevertheless
important because body odors are not socially acceptable. Despite washing
my body less frequently, I smell less. I also wash my hair about once a
month, although by the time I do it my hair is not greasy and doesn't seem
dirty. Believe me, using shampoo every 3 days and having greasy hair was a
lot more uncomfortable than having normal hair and not using shampoo.

I think this kind of preoccupation about hygiene is a bit irrational. I
mean, if you are not hungry, you shouldn't eat. If you are not thirsty,
you shouldn't drink. If you are not dirty, not smelly, why should you have
two showers/day?

Best wishes,

Jean-Louis
