Hi Roy!
I just finished a book called Fat Burning Nutrition by Joyce and Gene Daoust,
one of the Zone or Protein Power type books, which has a fair glycemic index
on pp. 35-36. I imagine an investigaton at a local book store would yield a
very complete glycemic index. If you find a good one, please let me know.
Low glycemic sweet fruits are apples, berries, grapes, grapefruit, peaches,
pears and plums. Cucumbers and the other "veggie fruits" aren't listed in
this book but I know from other reading that they are quite low. The food
lowest is nuts because of their high fat and protein content. However, the
glycemic index is not the whole story, check out the Protein Power book which
says the carbohydrate content is what's key.
Smiles,
Sandy
