*Can you please clarify what you mean by "installed many times"? On
different computers? On the same computer? If so, why... "many times"? I
am using the same Windows 98 s/e installed on my computer for over 2 years
now. I only installed it once! I believe my HD maintenance works with a
healthy system files.

*This was the point of my original post. "Will Win Me installs over Win
98?" and I meant without uninstalling Win98, or cleaning up my hard drive
first. I am curious whether it is possible to install Windows Me over an
existing Windows 98 S/E or not? Perhaps someone out there has done this. I
hate to "clean up" my harddrive with all data files and re-loading them if I
take the painful route of uninstalling windows 98 first hen load Windows
Me.*

I appreciate all the ideas and opinions you guys gave me but I am not into
comparing both versions of windows. I am merely interested in the process,
i.e., installing WinMe over an existing Win98 s/e (without unistalling the
latter?) Is it possible? My attempts to use the autorun/installation for
WinMe told me that the "current OS" prevents me from installing this
software (Win Me) but there's gotta be a way and I'm hoping someone out
there would share me the information.

I know I got more than what I bargained for but surely, I have learned a lot
from you guys. Thanks to Dean Kukral, Al Thompson and Peter Hogan. I am
still waiting for an answer to my question.... thanks again.
