There is a program called Gspot that will analyze the file and tell you what
decoder you require. I then go to Google and find the codec. Sometimes it is
a stand alone program or a codec that fits into say Media Player or DIVX so
that it can decode your video.
www.headbands.com/gspot
Is the web site.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Video AVI format not recognizable.
I am using a pocket DVR (PV330) which records audio and video. The video is
recorded in avi format, and shows as a file ***.avi. When I try copy the
file to my PC and try to play it - it comes up as not recognizable. Any
suggestions for a patch or some way to get this to work? The instruction
book shows the video to be MPEG4 Codec, frame rate 23-28 fps for encode and
decode, bit rate 100Kbps-2.5Mbps, Video size 320x240.
Any help would be appreciated.
John
