1. Professional Edition feuatures more administrative feautures, like
controlling users and accounts, while Home lacks a lot of that. So unless you
are into networking, or having more control of your family's computing, than
home edition is good. Also, Pro is $100 more expensive.
2. I have heard lots of people say that Paint Shop Pro is very user friend;y,
and has many automated feautures. However, with my 1 1/2 years of experience
with Paint Shop, and its "cousin" Photoshop (my boss had me learn Paint Shop
so I could later teach him), I find Photoshop to be much easier to use. Paint
Shop tries to oversimplify things, where in actuality it makes things much
more comlicated, such as drawing vectors, writing text, or using layers. I
learned how to effectively use Photoshop within a week w/o any tutorials,
since everything is so self-explanatory. If you do not liek either of these
programs, I suggest Microsoft Draw (although it is quite watered down). Feel
free to email me directly at [log in to unmask] if I didn't answer your
question completely, or at all.
