Dean suggested "Take the hard drive out of the old computer and install it in the new
                          computer, then copy all the stuff that you want.".

Wish I'd thought of it.  Note:  you do not necessarily have to take your computer apart.
Also, taking your computer apart may not work if your newer motherboard does not
support IDE drive connections.

An alternative is to purchase an inexpensive case that lets you create an external USB
drive from your old hard drive.
