I'm not sure that it's your problem, but I remember that when I
installed Quicktime, it asked me if I want to associate Q.T. with
JPG, etc... and I said "no", thumbnail feature works ok.
The idea : try to un-associate the JPG from quicktime [association
may still be intact even if you uninstall] and restore the previoous
assoc... or ask someone what it should be. I think Internet Explorer
should handle JPG. (I prefer ACDSee for pictures).
