You may have had some software on the '98 PC that could read Mac files, but
some of these files were saved in Mac only formats, so you'll need a Mac and
the program that created them. You can check what these files are here:
http://filext.com/
You could try emailing them to someone with a Mac and the relevant program,
and  you might be able to convert them to something a PC can read.
Notepad can open any file, so you might be able to extract some info that
way.
