It's difficult to advise you without knowing more detail about your
system. Can you access AOL sites?
From what I've read (I've never used it) AOL tends to be very invasive
and, unless you do a carefully monitored custom install, it will limit your
browsing to Websites registered with AOL only. Sounds as if it has
hijacked your browser, or even corrupted it.
First of all you could try simply reinstalling your browser. If that
doesn't work, you may need to uninstall the browser (very difficult with
some versions of IE) and reinstall it, or else install a different
browser. I'd replace the registry with an earlier backup at the same
time. AOL has undoubtedly plastered itself all over your registry, so that
reinstalling the browser alone may make little difference.
