Thank you. This did help. I checked the file associations suggested in
the article and found "-nohome %1" inserted following each correct path to
my browser (IE). After removing that phrase, links in email messages
received via Eudora not only opened IE but initiated the download as
well. Although I do not know where the "-nohome %1" came from, I now know
part of the cause and effect. The problem was in WinXP Explorer's file
associations. It would have taken me days to think of file associations on
my own.
