Need an assist.....

In earlier edition of windows, you could disable the automatic run of scan disk upon start up after a problem shut down, by editing C/msdos.sys.  and Changing "autoscan" from 1 to 0.  This does NOT work with Windows XP.

Can anyone give me the registry edit for accomplishing the requested task.
