I never understood AOL very well since I left at ver 3.
You seem to be using AOL version 6.

It IS possible for you to connect to AOL and then open
"another" instance of the main MSIE browser that happens
to be installed on your system.
You can then use that to browse instead of the integrated
AOL one.  (At least that is the way it was with installations
I have seen up to ver 5.)
It should be easy to see what version "that" one is.
I can't imaging the AOL one being too far off from being
"just about" the same version, although customized and
such.

As always, wait for more answers, hopefully from an actual,
current AOL user...
