I have something that sounds very similar on an IBM 760EL Laptop with a
Megaherz PCMCIA modem. Actually what happens for me is for *new*
connections that I create, I get a dial tone for about 1 second and then
sound goes dead. I found that the call will still go through and
connections will be made. If I modify one of the pre-configured DUN
connections (that came pre-configured with the laptop), the dial tone and
other dialing/connection sounds are normal. All the settings (including
the advanced) are identical. I have tried re-installing DUN and have
upgraded to the newest DUN 1.3. release. Still same problem.

BTW, is there a way to "copy" a DUN connection setting to another new DUN
connection?
