James,

Go to Start \ Programs and anywhere on the program list, right click and
select "Sort by Name". You can also left (click) drag the items to a
different location.

If you have as many programs as indicated, I suggest you arrange then by
category in folders. As I recall, this will work in Windows 98SE and is a
solution I used. Right-click on the Start button and choose "Explore". A
Windows Explorer window will open with the Start Menu selected. Select
(left-click or use the 'down' arrow) "Programs". This will display
everything on your Start Menu / Programs on the right side.

Now group the programs by category. For example: If you have several games
installed, create a new folder from the "File" menu (File \ New \ Folder),
name it "My Games", and drag & drop all your games to that folder. Then do
likewise for other categories of programs.

Also, there are some programs which you didn't install that you can combine
into one folder. Microsoft (for one) comes to mind. While you're doing this,
you can check your progress from time to time by bringing up the Start Menu
\ Programs.

Start Menu Question:
How do I [in WIN98SE] (1) alphabetize all start menu programs, (2) get the
Start Menu to CASCADE instead of having to scroll down 2-3 screens. I know
this has been done before in WIN98 or WIN95.
