I made 256bit AES encrypted zip archives with either regular or NO
compression with WinZip versions up to 12.1
Those are "my" old ones.
Then I switched to SecureZipExpress from PKWare.
I was trying to say I can open any I have ever made with WinZip (the old ones)
with my new program, Secure Zip Express.
I tried to keep them as simple as possible, using settings that indicated "portability"
in the name, (except for the 256bit setting).
Hope this helps clear it up.

Hi Rick,
What do you mean by "old" WinZip encrypted files?
I know that WinZip has a new file extension: "zipx" for advanced compression.
Are you saying it will open ALL WinZip 256-bit AES-encrypted files, but NOT "zipx" files, or that it will open only WinZip 256-bit
AES-encrypted files created before a certain date?
