Linda, the first thing you should look for is your Programs in the
Startup Folder...sometimes a corrupt program in the Startup Folder can
prevent your computer from shutting down...the one popular program
I've come across here at work is WIN POPUP...this definately caused
Windows not to shutdown properly. Other problems can come from a
Corrupt Sound File, a Bad Device Driver, commands in the WIN.INI file,
etc....there are a few more to mention. If you would like more

Shutdown" published in Windows 95 Professional, June 1997.
