I find the best way to do this is by using eBackup from Inachis.  You install it on the source computer first and create a backup of Addresses, Mail, Favorites, which are compressed into one file.

Then you install it on the target computer, transfer the backup file across on floppy or whatever is appropriate, then use the restore function to unpack and install the files.  It also copies the account configuration.
