Hi Ralph,
You didn't say how and with what you 'burned' the CD-RW. If you used a
program such as Roxio, Nero, MusicMatch or another program to burn an audio
(music) CD, the problem is not with the disk. Assuming, of course, that the
burn was successful.
Your portable and car CD players are not CD-RW compatible. For this purpose
you should use CD-R disks. The player in the car may or may not play CD-R
disks depending on how old it is, you'll just have to try it. Most portable
players of recent years will play a CD-R disk with the newer and more
expensive models having the capability to play CD-RW and mp3.
I don't recommend using CD-RW disks for anything. Back in the days when CD-R
disks were expensive, rewritable disks were a money saving option in some
cases. Not anymore. Nowadays I walk out of the store with a 100 pack of CD-R
disks that are free after rebates and I feel guilty, like I've stolen them.
Have fun,
Sven Swanson, Sr.

I burned my tape to a rw cd and it plays ok on my
computer but will not play on my portable or in the
car. Is there a setting I need to use to make it play
on them?
