I have been through this particular nightmare.
This is very probably a memory problem. Although your ram chips may check
out ok with a DOS diagnostic...... windows access them differently and
failures may occur  that do not appear in Dos.

Swap out your memory modules one at a time ....once you pull the bad one
out your problems should disappear...instantly.
